The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the formation of a new Management Committee for the senior national team, the Black Stars. The committee, which is tasked with overseeing the day-to-day activities of the team, is composed of experienced individuals with a deep understanding of Ghanaian football.

At the helm of the committee is Dr. Randy Abbey, an Executive Council member of the GFA, who will serve as Chairman. Dr. Abbey will provide overall leadership and engage with the government on behalf of the team. Supporting him as Vice-Chairman is Stephen Appiah, a former captain of the Black Stars. Appiah will handle player relations and provide support to the Chairman.

The committee also includes Samuel Aboabire, Chairman of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (RFA) and a GFA Executive Council member, who will oversee operations and matchday activities, as well as sponsor relations. Moses Armah, President of Medeama SC, will also handle operations and matchday activities, and sponsor relations. Richard Nsenkyire, President of FC Samartex 1996, will be responsible for special duties.

The formation of the new Management Committee is seen as a positive step towards revamping the Black Stars and restoring the team’s glory days. With a mix of experienced football administrators and former players, the committee is well-equipped to handle the challenges of managing the national team.

The Black Stars have been without a Management Committee since the dissolution of the previous one, and the new committee’s first task will be to prepare the team for the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. With the committee in place, Ghanaian football fans will be hoping for a turnaround in the team’s fortunes and a return to the top of African football.
