The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is putting the finishing touches on plans to announce a new management committee for the senior national team, the Black Stars.
According to reports, renowned sports broadcaster Dr. Randy Abbey will chair the new committee, which is expected to include several high-profile figures. Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, a legendary midfielder, is reportedly set to join the committee, bringing his wealth of experience and expertise to the table.
Other notable members expected to be part of the committee include FC Samartex president Dr. Richard Duah Nsenkyire and Greater Accra Regional Football Association chairman Samuel Aboabire.
The new management structure is aimed at bolstering the Black Stars’ preparations for the resumption of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers. As part of this effort, the GFA is also considering appointing a technical director to support head coach Otto Addo.
The technical director’s role is expected to be crucial in providing strategic guidance and expertise to the coaching staff, helping to identify and develop talent, and enhancing the team’s overall performance.
